Dear You (Now),
Take a deep breath, wherever you are in this moment. Feel the simple act of breathing fill you — a quiet anchor amid whatever surrounds you. I’m writing to you from a future that once felt distant, a horizon you might be striving toward right now. And I want to tell you with absolute certainty: you made it.
Recall those moments when doubt dares to whisper in your ear, when the path ahead appears unclear, and every step feels like wading through mud. Nurture the glimmer of optimism that shines within you. This is not a foolish dream; it is the undeniable strength of your God-given spirit propelling you forward.
I know exactly where you are right now. You’re giving it your all, but sometimes it feels like you’re stuck in a cycle—working tirelessly, waiting endlessly, facing uncertainties, and wondering if things will ever truly change, all while the years rush by. You feel the weight of your responsibilities, the pressure of your goals, and the frustration of not knowing when your breakthrough will finally come.
It’s simple to observe those around you and feel as though everyone else is progressing while you’re still figuring things out. You witness others rejoicing in their achievements. Although you understand that comparing journeys isn’t advisable, there are times when you can’t help but see those celebrations. It leads you to wonder if you’ve overlooked something or if you’re on the wrong path. I understand how you feel.
You’ve been waiting so long. You’ve fought hard. You’ve prayed. You’ve put in the work. You’ve been working on yourself, making sacrifices. And yet, the results haven’t matched your effort, at least not yet. It’s frustrating. I know.
But trust me—you are exactly where you need to be, even though that might only become clear later. I’ve been through the struggles. I’ve faced the mockery, the darkness, the fear. I’ve eaten tasteless food. I’ve prayed in closed rooms and cried without understanding why. I’ve been pressed into corners so tight, I thought I couldn’t breathe.
But let me tell you this: It’s all for a season and a reason.
Every step you’ve taken—no matter how painful, confusing, frustrating, or impossible it seemed—has been leading you to this moment. Even in your hardest times, you were being prepared. Even in the moments you felt like giving up, you were being shaped into someone strong enough to handle what’s coming next.
Looking back, I see it now—I wasn’t just surviving. I was grinding for a greater purpose.
I know how exhausting it can feel when your progress seems invisible. But hear this: you’re not off course. Every delay, every closed door, and all intervals of stress
are preparing you for something greater. God is orchestrating breakthroughs you can’t yet see. Keep going.
Remember those long, restless days when you found yourself staring at the calendar, counting down the days with a mix of hope and anxiety? You refreshed your inbox countless times, each ping igniting a beam of excitement, only to be met with disappointment. You waited endlessly—for that elusive call, the interview that remained just out of reach, for opportunities that were aborted, for your grades to transform into something worthy of celebration, for your dreams to take flight, for Dad to finally come home, or for Mom to find peace in her healing journey. In the quiet moments, you whispered to yourself, “When will it be my turn? When will this endless wait come to an end?” I remember that deep, aching feeling—a quiet heartbreak that lingered, the bittersweet sting of watching the world move forward while you felt stuck in place, longing for your moment to arrive.
And no—it wasn’t a mindset issue. You were wide awake and working on yourself every single day—mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. It just felt heavy. Overwhelming.
But here’s the truth I need you to hold onto: Their journey is not your journey, and their timing is not your timing. Don’t compare your journey to anyone else’s. Your path is uniquely yours, unfolding in its own perfect rhythm. Celebrate your small victories, acknowledge your progress, and be kind to yourself along the way. God has a unique plan for you, and it’s unfolding exactly as it’s meant to—even if it doesn’t make sense right now. (Isaiah 43; 16- 21)
And most importantly, remember the dreams that stir within you, the values that guide you, the quiet knowing that you are capable of more than you currently imagine. Hold onto that inner compass. It will guide you through the fog and lead you towards the future you are meant to inhabit. Just steer clear of implementing lasting solutions for fleeting struggles.
You might feel lost, uncertain of which way to turn. But remember that storms eventually pass, and the sun always finds a way to break through the clouds. These difficult times will not define you; they will refine you.
I know it doesn’t always feel like it. But hear me clearly: God has not forgotten you. He’s been with you the whole time.
You are precisely in the place you ought to be.
Look around you, even amid your struggles. Notice the small wonders, the unexpected kindnesses, the glimmers of beauty that persist. These are reminders that even in darkness, light exists. Hold onto these anchors of positivity.
Scripture to Hold On To: This is a Truth You Can Trust—God Never Lies
- “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” — Isaiah 40:31
- “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. — Psalm 27:14
- “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” — Jeremiah 29:11
- “Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” — Romans 5:3-4
- “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” — Romans 8:18
- God is my guide and protector. He gives me peace, strength, and direction. Even in dark times, I won’t fear because He is with me. He blesses me and surrounds me with goodness. I’ll dwell with Him forever. — Psalm 23
You Are Not Alone:
Although it may seem like you are navigating this journey in isolation, you are not alone. The Almighty God has been guiding you at every step. I would like to emphasize that this is not the conclusion of your journey. The challenges you currently face are integral to the preparation for a more significant opportunity ahead.
Your moment will arrive, and when it does, you will be equipped to seize it, regardless of the circumstances.
When that breakthrough finally arrives, you’ll not only be equipped to handle it—you’ll have a story that will inspire others. Your perseverance, your faith, and your trust in God will be a testament to others who are walking the same road.
Looking Back from Here…
I could’ve rushed the process, but I’m so glad I didn’t. God’s timing was perfect, even when I couldn’t see it. Now, looking back, I see it clearly—He wasn’t just preparing me for a destination. He was preparing me for something so much more. He was shaping me into someone who could not only achieve my dreams but hold them with gratitude, grace, and strength.
How It Feels to Be Here—As Your Future Self
It feels… peaceful. Not because life is perfect now, but because I finally understand why the pain and the wait had to happen. I see how every delay had direction, how every closed door led me to something better. I’m no longer constantly striving to prove, to earn, to be seen—because I’ve already become.
It feels like breathing easier. Like I’m no longer dragging my feet through the fog but walking with clarity, confidence, and calm. The weight is lighter, not because the world changed—but because I changed.
It feels like freedom. To choose what I want, not out of fear or pressure, but out of purpose. To laugh fully. To rest without guilt. To say no without explaining. To say yes without doubting.
It feels like coming home to myself.
Yet above all, it feels humbling. I recognize how far I’ve travelled. I recall the tears, the moments of silence, and the prayers murmured in fatigue. I think back to the nights when I wished to give up, the mornings when I pushed myself to get up, and the days I endured the ridicule. I remember you—the part of me that battled for this.
And for that, I’m proud. Deeply, quietly, proudly grateful.
I accomplished it.
We achieved it, but the change is still ongoing.
And now?
- I stand here, stronger, wiser, and unshaken.
- I am not just the person I prayed for—I am more than I ever imagined. ✔ I didn’t just get what I wanted—I stepped into something greater, more purposeful, more aligned with God’s will.
- I didn’t just wait—I witnessed God’s faithfulness every step of the way.
- It isn’t only my doing – it was God’s work
So, to you, the one who’s still in the waiting season and hardship, hold on just a little longer.
The doors are opening, and when they do, every single moment of doubt, negative oppression, every challenge, and every delay will be nothing but a distant memory.
Your story will be proof that God was always in control.
Keep going. Keep believing. Keep showing up, even when it feels hard. The “you who made it” is filled with quiet confidence and a deep understanding of the strength you possess right now.
With lots of love,
The You Who Made It
Prayer
Dear Almighty God,
In the waiting, let Your peace cover my heart. Help me remember that Your timing is always perfect, and You are preparing me for something far greater than I can imagine. Keep my faith strong, and may you order my steps in the waiting, grant me peace at this moment, strength for today, and hope for a better tomorrow. In Jesus Christ’s name Amen.
